Multidisciplinary

Established as an integrative task force, RoNeuro’s Eye Tracking Laboratory brings together researchers from the fields of electroneurophysiology, basic sciences, psychology, and data analysts.

Purpose

The main focus of our lab is to integrate eye-tracking technology as a biomarker for different neurological, psychiatric, and psychological conditions (e.g.: stroke, traumatic brain injury, chronic pain, extrapyramidal disorders, etc.). Sacadometrics are tested in diagnostic projects as a clinical assessment tool that correlates with disease stages and could determine disease progression, response to both pharmacological treatment strategies and neurocognitive rehabilitation.

Technical Resources

Our equipment is comprised of a stable desktop system, binocular dark-pupil eye tracker, capable of providing highly accurate information about a subject’s gaze every ~3,3ms.  The eye-tracking tests are conducted in a specific room with constant ambient conditions (temperature and lightening – controlled dimly lit room, to limit adaptational effects). The setting also allows concomitant recordings of other biosignals (qEEG).

Our Goal

RoNeuro Eye Tracking expertise extends to reading analytics research, the study of external stimuli on visual perception. Cognitive projects are an important pillar of development for our lab. Gaze fixation, eye movement and pupil reactivity are used to accurately discriminate between areas of interest to study human behavior with regards to products or website design. A full neuromarketing platform is available to perform concomitant recordings of eye-tracking, qEEG, ECG for state-of-the-art behavior metrics.

RoNeuro Eye Tracking Lab is also part of the international project Neurosense that focuses on the analysis of neurophysiological signals with the application of the latest technologies of artificial intelligence and machine learning.
