RoNeuro Institute - a part of the Foundation for the Study of Nanoneurosciences and Neuroregeneration (FSNN)

The Foundation for the Study of Nanoneurosciences and Neuroregeneration founded the RoNeuro Institute and its research department in 2014, generating research output in several subfields, including cerebrovascular disease, neurotrauma, and neurodegenerative disease, under the aegis of the Neurosciences Translational Research Center at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy 'Iuliu Hațieganu' in Cluj-Napoca.

The overarching aim of the department is to advance research via innovative technologies in neurophysiology, such as quantitative electroencephalography (QEEG), repetitive magnetic transcranial stimulation (r-TMS), and tracking of eye movements, among others. Focusing on translational approaches and strong partnerships, FSNN contributes to a more in-depth understanding of endogenous biological processes and the development of strategies for positively impacting Neurotrophicity, Neuroprotection, Neuroplasticity, and Neurogenesis.

The department’s approach is an integrative one, promoting innovation and excellence. We ultimately wish to contribute to developing knowledge and innovation in society through the advancement of neurosciences.

Institutional Development

Our institution is undergoing a shift in approach to research and capacity building. We are working towards developing exciting new training programs for our colleagues, alongside internal and external events and competitions, with the aim of increasing motivation, creativity, multidisciplinary, and innovation in research and practical applications of our technologies.

With an integrative and multidisciplinary approach, integrating medicine, public health, and psychology, we are looking into implementing further research in the following areas:

Neurotrauma

Cerebrovascular Disease

Neurodegenerative Disease

    Objectives

Our main objective is developing and maintaining an enviroment that promotes excellence and innovation in research and practical applications for the field of neurology and neurosciences.

To achieve this, we are concentrating our efforts on the following areas of interest:

Developing screening algorithms

Furthering research on biomarkers

Creating and improving monitoring tools

Economic models in health

Objectives

Let's work together

Our team welcomes research volunteers willing to acquire work experience in our research institute. Our volunteers work directly with our researchers, gaining the opportunity to have a close working relationship with their supervisor and obtain a firsthand understanding of the day-to-day operations of research projects.
